To help foster phonic awareness in young readers, we've added a new feature, Build a Word, to One More Story. Students can choose from a host of common letter groupings, then add a letter in front of the grouping to create words. Correct words created can be clicked on to be heard.
On the bookshelves page, click on the Build a Word badge to start.
Next choose a letter. Instructions will be written and spoken.
Next choose a letter grouping.
Then you can click on any letter to put in front of the letter grouping to make words.
The button on the left in the last screen, Show All Words, allows young readers to see all the words that can be created. You can click on each word to have it spoken. If you choose a letter that doesn't make a word, an x appears next to it and the word disappears.
