Sidney Won't Swim by Hilde Schuurmans

IN A NUTSHELL: friends and teachers help Sidney overcome his fear of swimming.

SUMMARY: Sidney does not want to have his first swimming lesson at school. He tells everyone that swimming is "dumb" when in reality, he is afraid of the water. Sidney comes up with many excuses to avoid his swimming lesson, but his teachers and friends help him overcome his fear. By the end of the story, Sidney learns to enjoy swimming.
